Movementous; Passers

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013

Sure, it didn’t matter if I waited. So, I waited. All at once, everything happened. A car went by, then another, then another. It was as if folks lived around there. I was surprised. I gave a shriek! One of the cars stopped. The back door opened. “Care for a lift?” “Sure, why not.”

Building; Roppongi

In and around Roppongi, looking up. The buildings in Roppongi are fun to look at. The effort it took to build them. The imagination. No need to wonder; their existence informs.

Looking back, we have lessons experienced. This idea isn’t original, and. So, then. We’re floating in. In unoriginality and uniqueness.

New Day; Facing

Monday, January 7th, 2013

Satoko and I woke up to a beautiful morning, New Year’s Day. After coffee and a bit of lollygagging, we got ready to head to the kaikan. I took a short video as we rode our bikes. After arriving, then chanting a bit, we headed back home for lunch. What beautiful weather. The area around our neighborhood looks so clean and bright every January 1st (most of the year, actually), though I don’t really get around much as I mostly head in the one direction – to work and back. After lunch we headed to Kawasaki for our annual dinner with her mother, brother, and their family. Good food and conversation. Once back home we stayed awake long enough to catch a few episodes of Parks & Recreation. It was a nice, relaxing day. Thank you.

Snowed; It

Monday, January 7th, 2013

I didn’t snow, it snowed.

It
01/23/12 It snowed and snowed and stuck. I giddied like a school girl. They giddy a lot.

Love; Satoko

Monday, January 7th, 2013

Seventeen years ago last night I married Satoko Nobe Seaholm. She also married me. Together, we got married. I’ll spare you the details, but in a nutshell, it’s been quite the journey. Yes, I love this woman. Yes, she digs me. I’m about to jump on a couch. All that’s missing is Oprah (and Tom, (and Katie, (and Big Bird))).

Satoko

Blur; Slider

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013

Folks glide past us. We also glide past folks. Perspective. Point of view. Have you ever been on a train, and witnessed the next car moving, while your car seems to remain still? From the folks on the other car, your car is moving while their car remains still. Who’s understanding is correct. That’s obvious.

Blur; Recognition

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013

We see because we care. If we don’t care, we don’t see. Once we care about anything, we look for more. The more we find, the more, or less, we care. All goes from there.

Orange; In the Bu

Tuesday, October 9th, 2012

So we found this baby bird. I was told the mother would know we took it, and would be very angry. This frightened me, but I also felt intrigued. Other than that, the bird had its eyes shut and mouth open. We fed a milk concocted concoction through a dropper. The bird died. We had dinner, then I watched an episode of The Six Million Dollar Man.

Humanstracto; In the Bu

Monday, October 8th, 2012

We are in photos around the world. Our physicality, being photographed, is a relatively new human experience. Folks aren’t always aware that they’re showing up on social networks. Would they recognize themselves if they were to happen upon a photo they starred in? Perhaps. Would they want to thank us, or pinch our elbows? Either could happen, or something else entirely.
