Raygunned, 1994.

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

A raygun may be something most boys want. I’d like to build and sell working rayguns to all the little ones (at a good price, of course) – just as an experiment.

Being Future

There may be things we are all reluctant to talk about. I haven’t ever spoken about the time when, way back in ’94, a neighbor’s co-worker’s friend of a friend’s ex-wife’s mother in-law returned from an all night bowling party to find an indescribable experience going on right above her head. There, now I’ve gone and said too much.

Being future (a proof), 2010.

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

The being looks toward its future to see if there is something coming, and prepares to go forth in an effort to say what’s important in order to prove that the thoughts it’s having are the correct thoughts. The only thoughts. Right.

Study scientists, view 1, 2010.

They’re here to study, but other things develop as a result. For example, we can now travel faster than we could a few thousand years ago. It’s true. I think about that from time to time. We could study the folks who study. If we do, then we’ll be able to travel even faster someday. That requires study.

Old art. Old as in 1998. Old as in Bryce 3d old. Ok, you get the point.

It looks a bit like an iPhone, and is about the same size. Sure, it could be used for evil, but why bother when it feels so good. It also can play music.

Funny that the area is red. Perhaps the new camera couldn’t adjust for the extreme situation. Regardless, the situation was dire enough to require a photo. Once in a while the in-charge crowd is on top of things. Now, about that camera!

Ink on the spot/intentions, 2005.

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

A work in progress. Work. Hard. Making sure the ink is on the paper as intended. I don’t have a plan. No intention other than making the ink go on the paper. If I put… “as intended,” then it would suggest a loop. Suggest a loop. Suggest a loop. Suggest a loop. Yeah. Yeah. clickety-bang, bang. Woop, woop… !

The ship leaves the planet to head to the first post in low orbit. What happens next is anyone’s guess, especially since it’s all just a bunch of bunk. The design, however, is as genuine as a virtual world can be. Rendered in LightWave, but designed from the heart.

This design was to be part of the front of a ship, where the smaller craft (this one) could detach for other applications. Will revisit this after I finish the 1,216,309 other projects I’m working on.

Artworkinprogress: Sketchie 2

Artworkinprogress is an ongoing attempt to get stuff done. Once made public, it’ll reinforce in me that these pieces are still alive; still in need of completion.

The second batch of artwork that began in February of 2009 as an idea to do collaboration with a fellow artist and friend from Texas. Here’s another result of that effort.

Different views of this spaceship design, modeled and rendered in LightWave 3d, and enhanced in Photoshop. Has this design seen its last days? Time will tell.

I was just getting the hang of LightWave 3d. Nothing but spaceships and robots back in the day. Maybe it’s time for a resurgence.

Worked on my computer for the first part of the day, then went to Shibuya to order an iMac at the Mac store. They told me the 27″ iMac isn’t available for order until *sometime next month. Of course I can order it online, but I wanted to slam hard and cold cash down onto the counter, making a lot of noise in the process. Unfortunately, I had to leave the store quietly, keeping my cold cash in my pocket. So it looks like I’ll have to wait until *sometime next month. I bought Satoko an anniversary present (a ring, cha-ching!) in Shibuya, so the trip wasn’t a wasted effort. Hope it fits! Will find out at dinner tomorrow night. This is the first ring other than our wedding rings that I bought her in 14 years of marriage. I don’t think she wanted another set of dish towels this year; 13 years in a row kind of became stale. Time to liven things up! Met her in Jiyugaoka for some ramen. She bought me a snazzy pair of pants from Eddie Bauer. Now I’m wearing the pants in the family. Feels nice.

It’s all undone!

nueMe, 1996.

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Bryce 3d had just come out, and I wanted to use if for something more than a terrain editor. I did a few versions of a SciFi scene on Mars. Spaceships – you gotta love ‘em (unless you don’t).
