Once the ice melted, 2010.

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Once the ice melted, the man stepped out into the hot Summer day and exclaimed, “Wow, it sure is a hot day!” Everyone wondered why he wanted to talk about the weather.

Rapic, 2007~2010.

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Forced to live amongst the gray, Rapic gathered enough of whatever makes green to pull just enough color into Rapic’s world. Once that was done, there was nothing left for Rapic to do but stand there and admire.

A thickness that takes away from any thin, and a dot that was once part of the thickness. Shapes and shapes find a place to notice each other in the wholeness of the boundaries.

Sometimes all it takes is a little dot of red. That’s a truth that if denied, can lead to a lack of observation that can lead to a lack of enjoyment of the smells of life, but is somewhat beneficial if the office life is choke full of boredom.

It works to ones advantage if he or she can understand that we are he or she. Once that is understood with the empathy faculty, then any kind of cereal can be poured into your bowl, because it is everyone’s bowl. Time to share.

Box of assorted swishes, 2010.

Monday, April 19th, 2010

I didn’t wish for the swish, but there it was. Then the idea caught on, and more came. The final event was when the last batch came all at once. The box arrived at an odd time – 4:56 in the afternoon. Odd because if it had been any sooner, or later, then it wouldn’t have been the same. Think about it.

Being future (a proof), 2010.

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

The being looks toward its future to see if there is something coming, and prepares to go forth in an effort to say what’s important in order to prove that the thoughts it’s having are the correct thoughts. The only thoughts. Right.

Red to black and gray, 2010.

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Red said to get Gray to come down and mix with Black, but Black wanted to take most of the attention away from Gray because Gray usually dominated the scene. Black also wanted to know why Red was barking orders.

This is a one-off picture of an in-progress acrylic painting. It’s very one-version, hyphenated all the way.

Boundaries are set by contrast. What better way to illustrate this idea than to flip a piece of toast in the air, and hoping it’ll make sense. Stranger connections have been made.

Ink on the spot/intentions, 2005.

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

A work in progress. Work. Hard. Making sure the ink is on the paper as intended. I don’t have a plan. No intention other than making the ink go on the paper. If I put… “as intended,” then it would suggest a loop. Suggest a loop. Suggest a loop. Suggest a loop. Yeah. Yeah. clickety-bang, bang. Woop, woop… !

Ink forgotten somewhere, 2005.

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Near the end of 2005, I drew this ballpoint image. It was done. But why. I do not remember. I’m thinking I gave it to someone, but maybe it’s filed away to be dealt with, as the plan goes, at a later time. There’s always later. Later is always.
