This is a peanut all split apart as all peanuts are intended (to be).

La Chasse du Pape Reserve Côtes du Rhone is a fine French wine. I enjoyed it. I’ll enjoy it again.

Ediball, 2009.

This ball no longer exists as it once did. I chewed up up, and coaxed it out. But that’s not really relevant, though I talk about it as if it were. Any questions please ask your neighbor.

Hold it like a weird baby, 2009.

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

I held it like a baby. Like a little, weirdly shaped baby. Like a weirdly shaped baby with an actual heart of gold that will rule the world someday. I held it like that.

Weird baby.

Taxi tokyo, 2009.

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

They’re riding fast and furious, and they get lost often. Maybe the taxi drivers are constantly looking to go to the toilet. Maybe they’re looking for a place to have lunch. Maybe they like watching porn at midnight when they get home from driving office workers to and fro. Maybe they have friends in high places. Who knows is the point.

The peace sign has become another gestural greeting, but I’m sure there’s peace involved as well. A story might exist where someone flashed the peace sign, and the intended recipient went medieval on the sender’s ass. Maybe it was phrased differently. I’m sure it might have maybe happened. Peace V.

A kind of run, 2009.

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

That kind of run when [*] is chasing you and you can’t get away fast enough, though really nothing will happen to you, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and that is quite an exciting feeling I feel it is.

I took a train to Azabu-Juban, which is a nice neighborhood in Tokyo, and conveniently the place where she works. I said hello to her boss while waiting for her to finish up. We left the office and walked a short distance to Les Enfants Terribles, a French restaurant, as well as a 1929 novel by Jean Cocteau. We ordered wine, ordered food, ate, and drank. Excellent wine. Excellent food. Beef, lamb, fish, veggies, dessert, coffee – all served a la the French cuisine course style. A superb dinning experience indeed. Thanks, honey, for 14 years of marriage excellence. Good times, good times.

14 years, 2009.

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Satoko and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary at a swanky little French restaurant in Azubu-Juban. Someone was impressed.

Worked on my computer for the first part of the day, then went to Shibuya to order an iMac at the Mac store. They told me the 27″ iMac isn’t available for order until *sometime next month. Of course I can order it online, but I wanted to slam hard and cold cash down onto the counter, making a lot of noise in the process. Unfortunately, I had to leave the store quietly, keeping my cold cash in my pocket. So it looks like I’ll have to wait until *sometime next month. I bought Satoko an anniversary present (a ring, cha-ching!) in Shibuya, so the trip wasn’t a wasted effort. Hope it fits! Will find out at dinner tomorrow night. This is the first ring other than our wedding rings that I bought her in 14 years of marriage. I don’t think she wanted another set of dish towels this year; 13 years in a row kind of became stale. Time to liven things up! Met her in Jiyugaoka for some ramen. She bought me a snazzy pair of pants from Eddie Bauer. Now I’m wearing the pants in the family. Feels nice.

Say hello to Mr. Zen Arthur Kostersky, 2009.

Monday, October 26th, 2009

My buddy Kevin, and his wife Aiko-san, have just brought new life into this world.

Say hello to Mr. Zen Arthur Kostersky, 2009.

Zen Arthur Kostersky was born October 20, 2009, around 11 in the evening, weighing in at 3kg. According to his father, he was full of genkiness, otherwise known as bubbly, peppy, or generally full of beans.

Kevin and Aiko, congratulations to you both. And little Zen, congratulations to you as well – not everyone is born of such wonderful people. You have quite an adventure ahead of you!
